Meet some cool people and learn wilderness survival skills in this course. Alison has studied and practiced wilderness survival for 30 years from books, from instructors, and from lots of dirt time.
This course is designed to teach you everything you need to know in a wilderness survival situation to get out safely or survive several days.
We’ll cover:
- Fire starting
- Shelters
- Water purification
- Best edible plants to know
- Primitive hunting and trapping
Time: 10 – 2 – October 7, 2023
Location: 1 mile from Short Pump Mall at our property with several hundred acres of forest behind us. We’ll send out the exact location and other details after sign up.

We'll meet at 12585 Kain Road, Glen Allen, VA 2305. You may park directly across the street in the gravel parking area if our driveway is full. We'll start promptly at 10 a.m. and wrap up at approximately 2 p.m.
Please bring the following:
- A notebook
- A pencil/pen
- A water bottle
- A bagged lunch.
- A fixed blad knife if you have one.
If it rains, we'll likely still meet and be inside more. If I do cancel, I'll send a note out 1 hour before.
